Karen Fraser: Managing DirectorKaren joined the pharma industry in 1982 and spent 4 years in Medical Sales before moving into marketing with Amersham International. She quickly progressed to Glaxo where she spent 7 years in increasingly senior roles, being responsible for a number of pharmaceutical brands in Respiratory, Cardiovascular and Anti-Infectives, before becoming Marketing Manager for the UK launch of Imigran, a major breakthrough therapy which revolutionised the treatment of Migraine. She subsequently joined Synthelabo and spent 2 years as UK Marketing Director with commercial responsibility for the whole product portfolio, including both novel and generically exposed brands across CNS, Mental Health, Men's Health and Cardiovascular areas. She then left corporate life to establish a profitable marketing consultancy, Virtual Healthcare Solutions (VHS), which introduced the concept of outsourced brand management. During this time, she successfully co-ordinated the UK launch of 4 brands on behalf of 3 international companies. Frequent partnership between VHS and leading pharmaceutical services organisation Quintiles during this time, resulted in acquisition, and for the next 15 years, she provided marketing insight and commercial due diligence to the global organisation - both evaluating and supporting many partnership and investment opportunities spanning the US, UK, Europe and the Far East in multiple therapeutic areas. In December 2015, Karen left Quintiles to set up Acuitas, in order to provide commercial insight and due diligence services on an independent basis. Karen is also a seasoned judge for two leading European Marketing awards – the Communique Awards for Healthcare Communication, and PMEA (Pharmaceutical Market Excellence Awards). |
